Equality Action (formerly Human Rights & Equalities Charnwood) are looking to recruit 3 new volunteer Directors/Trustees.
Established in 1969 to promote equality and diversity, dignity and respect through inclusion, they are a registered charity and company limited by guarantee.
Justin O’Brien, Chair of Equality Action, stated “We are have been through an exciting year with a review of our work and overall governance. This has included our name and rebranding. Our aims are to work towards eliminating discrimination, campaigning for equality of opportunity and promoting good relations between all persons in the Borough of Charnwood. We are looking forward to welcoming new recruits to our board who will help us achieve our ambitious goals.”
Governed by a board of Directors and at their forthcoming AGM are looking to recruit 3 new voluntary Directors to join the Governance team. In particular Equality Action wish to recruit a volunteer with financial experience to work closely with the Treasurer. The new volunteers will join an existing team of 9 who are responsible for ensuring the charity runs effectively.
Equality Action are looking for individuals with a genuine interest in their work, and previous experience of charity involvement is not essential. The charity are also keen to recruit volunteers who have strong backgrounds in organisational leadership and development, finance, fundraising and income generation, business development and community development.
