MAY 13, 2021: The first virtual ‘Healthy Goals’ pilot program in partnership with Leicester City Football Club and Cities Changing Diabetes completed this week and coordinated by Sunny Rohit, Community Engagement Officer for the Centre.
The pilot program included individuals from our Walking Cricket Group who kindly volunteered to be part of this group on Zoom during lockdown.
The 12 week course consisted of each session being split into an educational element followed by physical activity session. Leicester City Football Club supported the physical elements of each session whilst the Cities Changing Diabetes team supported the educational element.
‘Thank you Sunny and your team with Hannah, Denise and Mehul for informative and energetic training over the last 12 weeks. Learnt a lot and will carry on making action plans. Thank you so much.’
‘Thank you to the team for the last 12 weeks of valuable advice and exercise. Very positive.’
‘And also many thanks to Sunny for always thinking about the betterment n good of us all n also organising these useful sessions.
Finally it has been a great opportunity catching up with our group Friends and seeing everyone on Zoom.’
Following the success of these virtual sessions, further sessions may take place in the near future to hopefully include a mixture of face to face and virtual interaction.
Following completion of the program, all of the participants have been asked to complete evaluation forms, and work will take place on evaluating these shortly.
